What our customers say about their holidays
Justine - Verified booking
Tressa was set in a beautiful quarry and the surroundings were extremely peaceful and made for a lovely holiday.
The lodge itself was fantastic but let down by the most uncomfortable mattress in the ensuite bedroom. The mattress was very old and tired so I thick foam mattress topper had been put on top which was boiling hot and you rolled around like youâre on a marshmallow. My daughter was so uncomfortable she slept on the sofa for four of the nights. The mattress in the other bedroom was perfect thankfully as my mother has a terrible back and neck condition. The quarry behind our lodge was lovely to swim in. However the ladder installed to get down into the water rather than having to grab handles only had one which was not fixed securely and the space between the treads was very far apart and because you were holding your hands together in front of you when I tried to get in the quarry there was too much space between the treads and I fell very badly injuring my elbow arm and leg. I think a proper ladder with grab handles either side would be far more stable as had my daughter not been with me I would not have been able to get out. All this said if the ladder was changed swimming was an absolute dream in the quarry. I hope the mattress gets replaced had it not been for the lack of sleep I would without question book to return to Tressa as it was the most relaxing place to be. The most important thing with any holiday is getting a good. Night sleep and having a lovely hot shower. It always amazes me when people do not invest in decent mattresses. Please sort them out as we would all love to return

The property is well presented.
There is a large veranda which is pleasant to sit on. The kitchen is well resourced. There was a small carton of milk, some Welsh cakes and two toilet rolls provided for our arrival. Dogs are welcome on the site. The site has a dog shop and a new doggie shower/ wash facility which is very helpful. One of the local beaches, Cei Bach, is dog friendly and many of the cafes & shops in the area also welcome dogs. There is plenty of parking. The property is set in an old holiday park which is being renovated. Older chalets are being replaced with newer lodges like The Ridgeway. As such, there was extensive building works taking place during our stay. This included a large concrete mixer driving past the lodge to pour concrete onto empty plots, work people digging all day, and gravel being continually moved across the site past the lodge. It was, on occasions, quite noisy. There was an unpleasant smell of sewage for three days. It stopped after the siteâs maintenance team spent a day drilling and digging in an area close to the property. The unlimited WiFi was extremely intermittent. There was generally no connection at all after around 4.00pm. We did contact the owners about this. It was frustrating because we needed to be able to work and could not. Other holiday makers we spoke to did not have the same problem. The television also did not initially work. Somehow it was not tuned in. Eventually we did manage to get live tv after retuning the set.

Bluebell Lodge is beautiful !
! Set in quiet countryside making chilling out under the stars a lovely experience. A bit of a shock to the system adjusting to driving along single track lanes to get there but worth it ! The lovely open plan lodge has plenty of room for up to 6 people. The beds are so comfortable. A full size bathroom with shower over the bath is great if you have smaller children with you. The lovely en suite shower room is wonderful plus there is a separate toilet with sink so in total 3 toilets (very important when there would be 6 of you) The hot tub is maintained immaculately by Andy who is on site should you need any info or should you have problems (which we didn't) The information booklet provided is very useful. Personally i might put a map of the site in the booklet explaining where the "meter room" actually is on site and where the dog waste bin is. There was free wood provided for the log burner but we didnt need it as the Norwegian log cabins are so warm anyway even when it was windy and raining outside. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, full sized electeic cooker/oven and every possible kitchen item you might need. Currently the owners, Gary and Gemma are in talkes witb the local council to arrange for recycling bins to be availae in the future which is in line with the company footprint. We will definitely be booking Bluebell Lodge again !!!

This place is truly amazing.
When you see all the reviews about how well equipped is, it really is. Everything that you could ever need. The place is comfy, clean and the cream tea (including the home made Jam) that was waiting for us, was also wonderful. We cooked in most nights and it was very easy. Lots of herbs and spices left there. The lakes are just something else. We came with two boys and a dog and the lower Lake was easier to be use as its a gradual walk in. Unlike the higher lake that you enter by a ladder which is a little harder, however the higher one is very quiet and secluded with a lovely wooden seat to sit and look out. I swam everyday... it was certainly fresh but amazing once you were in. The hot tub over looking the lower lake was also very welcome after a swim. We walked the dog the mile to the local pub every evening. The walk takes you up alongside the river which is lovely. The pub was great and we were met by really lovely locals. We didn't eat there, but heard only great things. We will defo be back. Thank you again Kirsty for your great and very quick communication. Liz x

Can honestly say this is one of the most well thought out properties I have ever stayed in.
Really lovely pieces of furniture including the dining table and dressing table stools as well.as supremely comfy beds and gorgeous bedding all top notch. Also though so many extras the sewing kit and first aid extras and that was just inside. Outside the fire out and barbeque with wood and firelighters supplied added to the special experience of the place and it's location. We even had a game of try at a game of swingball. The welcome pack was so generous with prosecco and marshmallows just perfect. The only thing which was a slight issue was the noise of the heat pump but wouldn't stop us recommending to friends or booking again if we can find a free slot. Loved it practical and luxury and also soothes the soul. We all need some of that these days. Also close to blairgowrie for grocery shopping and stocking up on essentials. Great location for exploring the local area we did pitlochry and the house of bruar, highland safaris and spirit of wood at aberfeldy, kenmore, birnam wood, the hermitage and dunkeld. So wish we were still there
