  Plas y Brain is a great house in a really peaceful and private location.

  There’s plenty of room in the house and outside. The garden was great for our dog. This is a great spot for star gazing too as there is little to no light pollution in the surrounding area. The house was warm and spotlessly clean when we arrived. The kitchen has lots of worktop and cupboard space, and it is well equipped; although, a few extra dinner and side plates would be good. The fridge is about the size of an under counter fridge. We would have benefitted from a larger fridge as we took a week’s worth of shopping with us but couldn’t fit it all in. The shops in Benllech aren’t far though, so I wouldn’t take as much fresh food next time. We loved the large kitchen table. It was great for dining and playing games on. There was plenty of room in the large hallway when all 7 of us were trying to get shoes on and get out of the house. Some coat hooks/coat stand here would be beneficial. We used the shelves in the cupboards for coats and luckily had dry weather, so it didn’t matter too much for us. The games room was good fun and enjoyed by all (age range from 9-77 years!). The stair gate made it easy to keep the dog downstairs as requested by the owners and there was a large space under the stairs area to put her crate. A point to note for visitors is to take a plug attachment to charge your electric toothbrush as there aren’t any shaver points. We had a lovely family holiday here (lots of walking on the nearby beaches and coastal path followed by playing games at the house) and although we had really nice weather, we feel like the house would have been a good space if we’d had to stay in. We will definitely stay at Plas y Brain again the next time we visit Anglesey.

  We had a lovely 5 night stay at Sgubor cottage.

  The property is so peaceful and the decor is just breathtaking, this property is to die for. It was our first time in Anglesey and we will definitely return if we can get another great deal on this property. A lovely welcome package on arrival included prosecco, welsh cakes, bara brith and milk in the fridge. There was no tea or coffee in the tins which was a shame as we forgot our tea bags. There was also no salt/pepper which we thought was strange as this is a basic that we shouldn't have to buy and haven't had to in other places we have stayed. There are tons of cutlery and crockery, along with saucepans and oven trays all provided. The only other negatives we found were the property had a lot of small black bugs in areas, particularly around the windows. Some of the windows had mould around them which would have been basic to clean. The downstairs bathroom shower screen also had lots of mould on the rubber bit on the bottom, again this is a basic thing to clean before guests arrived. The shower in the downstairs bathroom also had a bad kink in the hose, meaning the water pressure was awful as half the water was spraying everywhere. This wasn't a problem for us as I just used the upstairs shower, but definitely needs replacing for future guests. Overall, these negative points are extremely minor and would not put us off staying again, we absolutely loved the place and did not want to leave, highly recommend!!

  Beautiful barn conversion very contemporary, and super comfortable.

  Definite WOW factor. Fixtures and furnishings are to a very high standard, (bedlinen was very cosy) everything you could possibly want was provided in the kitchen. Great base for enjoying everything that Anglesey has to offer. Nice walk to the beach from the doorstep less than 10 mins walk awa we decided to leave our 4 legged friend at home but he would of loved the beach. As a previous review had mentioned a coffee table / small side table would be useful, we took our own which proved to be very handy. My only comment would be that a mirror near to a plug would be handy for plugging in the hairdryer, and possibly some coat hooks on the backs of doors in the bedrooms that don't have wardrobes in, as the only hanging space was in the wardrobes in the main bedroom and the bunk room, and if these rooms are occupied it could prove to be inconvenient to keep popping in for your clothing, however this did not spoil our break. We would certainly return, as it's a great place for family/ group holidays.

  We have thoroughly enjoyed every moment in this special place. The scenery was magnificent. Being surrounded on 4 sides by hills, sheep, cows and the occasional bird was lovely too. The owner was great at keeping in contact. The cottage is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has every piece of equipment and furniture we could think of. The stairs are a bit steep for little children but otherwise a family friendly property - our son loved the size of his bed! We enjoyed the cycling and walking we could do and even when it rained (which it did for the first 2 days) it didn't matter as the property was so nice to stay in! We had a tinkle on the piano, enjoyed lounging in the living room, just reading and playing board games at the kitchen table. The welcome pack (a handwritten postcard from the owner, food basics, toffee waffles, and a wonderful huge bowl of fruit) kept us going and was very useful. Thank you for all of this. We will be recommending and hopefully returning. A splendid job.

  Plas Y Brain was a lovely house to use as our base.

  There were 5 of us plus 2 dogs. The house itself was large with so much room for everyone. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need although maybe the addition of a caffetierre would have been the icing on the cake! The games room was a great bonus for the evenings with the mini pool table causing great fun as the balls rolled into the same position due to the surface not being quite flat. We didn’t really find the local walks as only had time one day and got chased by the cows. They were beautiful though and inquisitive once we were on the other side of the fence. The attractions we went to were just stunning and everything is so quick to get to. Seeing Puffins and Seals were our highlights. I would highly recommend a stay here, so peaceful, all you could hear was cows, sheep and the birds tweeting.
