What our customers say about their holidays
Kirsty - Verified booking
Fantastic quiet village location - perfect for a beach holiday as only a short walk to a lovely beach.
On the whole the terraced house was all you need for 1 week away, however the cleanliness in the cottage was very disappointing especially as everything should be 'cleaner than clean': Kitchen work surfaces were dirty and 'sticky', washing up bowl had red food grease on it, mugs in the cupboard weren't clean. The tablecloth covering the kitchen table was so dirty it took a few goes to remove the dirt from it. (Nice start to a holiday - thanks!) The bathroom floor had quite a few black hairs on it (along the skirting) and they weren't ours The loo roll holder was rusty and the loo brush handle was grimy (yuk!) Bathroom walls/ceiling in the shower had black mould Cottage smelt damp (I realise it's an old building but this needs addressing as some people are allergic to mould and the air freshener used to mask the smell was a tad over-powering). Bed linen for the single bed didn't fit (it was too big, so could I suggest you use a small single bed mattress cover instead then it would be more comfortable for guests). The carpet is nasty & cheap and they haven't even bothered with underlay upstairs, so it's very hard underfoot too. Beds are very hard (great if you like a hard/super firm mattress though) For the extortionate price we paid for 1 week, I'd expect better. Towels were lovely and soft/fluffy (although one had weird crusty brown marks on which didn't come out in the wash) and the white bed linen was nice too. There's loads of kitchen utensils in every cupboard and drawer including 2 x cafetières, but only 1 small cupboard for your food, but there's 2 cafe's in the village & 1 pub - all serving great food! To end on a positive note though, the village is gorgeous and the location of this property is fabulous.

Copper Bal Cottage was very clean and tidy, with stylish modern furnishings and tasteful artwork. It has an off-road parking space ideal for a medium-sized car or an on-road parking for a larger car. The garden is really pretty with a patio and a grass lawn, flowers and trees and a choice of seating options. We enjoyed meals on the patio and sitting under the awning to read and relax. We cooked in the kitchen which is well-equipped with a full-sized cooker, fridge-freezer and washing machine. The dining area is bright and comfortable. The lounge is cosy with a TV and streaming services. We didn't need the log burner but this would have been a treat on a cold or wet week. Upstairs the beds are comfortable with white linens and the shower is excellent. It is ideal for a couple of friends - like all older properties the ceilings are low in several of the downstairs rooms and on the stairs but we were aware of this when we booked and it is no problem for someone under 6 feet tall. The village is most practical with the village stores across the road, a post office and a few pubs; it is on a bus route and there are proper roads! There is such a lot to do nearby, magical coastline such as Prussia Cove, gardens such as Trengwainton and Godolphin, the Minack Theatre and St Michael's Mount. It is easy to shop, with Penzance so close by. And don't forget the superb jumpers at Tam O'Shanter in Penzance. You could go on a day trip to the Isles of Scilly from the Penzance Heliport or stay here before going onto Scilly for longer. The owner had gone to a lot of effort to make you feel at home and the letting company provided welcome packs on arrival.

Let me start on a positive note!
!! The location was amazing so close to the beach and cabin beach cafe. Unfortunately as we entered the property we were met by a living room in desperate need of an update, there were big stains on the cheap carpet the sofas were drab and there were wires hanging loose under the tv which is a risk if you have a child with you as we did. In the kitchen area was a not so good glass partition and there was no privacy curtains or blinds on the doors leading into the garden which would have been ok if there hadnât been people cutting through the gates and across the garden. Upstairs the bathroom was in need of an update the power shower would have been ok if the tray didnât fill up so quickly, we had to keep turning the shower off, there was mould around the sealant and flaking paintwork, there was also no shelf in the shower for putting your shampoo etc. The bedrooms were ok and beds fairly comfortable but there is a dangerous step leading out of the bedroom and off the landing if you forgot about it you could end up falling down the stairs not good if you have a child with you. We didnât see the owners who from what I read in the feedback lived next door, itâs the first time I have stayed in a place and not been greeted by the owners. This place is rated as 4 star I think you need to re-think this rating as it is definitely not 4 star inside. We didnât stay in the property or even cook and eat in it as we didnât feel comfortable cooking and eating there. Such a shame this could be an amazing little home.

This is a really lovely cottage with fantastic views across the sea and an enchanting garden that is perfect for relaxing in. Our stay was very peaceful, and the cottage had everything we needed - even a fan, which was useful in the hot weather. The bed was really comfortable and the cottage has a big bath to soak in after any long days walking. The most impressive bit though has to be the garden. This is accessed by a gate and once you walk into it you are in your own private oasis, surrounded by plants and trees. The garden is so well cared for with lots of interesting and colourful plants and flowers. It is perfect for sitting with a book looking out at the sea, or cooking up food on the barbecue. It has to be said that people with any mobility issues may find the cottage tricky to access, as you have to climb a hill to reach it. However you are rewarded by amazing views so it is definitely worth it. Our hosts Linda and John were lovely, allowing us to drop our luggage off early, and were quick to respond to any queries we had. Plus they left us very thoughtful treats for our arrival - including fresh roses, wine and cake. It’s the perfect place for a proper break and we hope to return in the future.

Tremellon Farm is a great place to stay.
I am over 6ft though and my wife is 5'10". I booked the accommodation knowing that the bed looked small in the photos, so I only have myself to blame, but that alone would be enough for us not to book again. When we arrived the recycling box was already full. At no point was this emptied during our stay, and we had to make a special visit to Sainsburys to sort this out. The two dogs were unwelcome. The dogs took a particular dislike to my 14 year old son and made us slightly anxious about being outside. I also think you should mention that the property is shared with other people on the site (albeit in other buildings). Seeing people wandering around was irritating. I also think you should highlight that there is no-one else staying in the other part of the building. On arrival, the internal glazed doors with net curtains made us extremely concerned we were going to be overlooked using the lounge area. While the above is all true, we did love how well equipped the house was, we were very grateful for the disposable BBQ and the garden is fantastic. On the whole the property offers VERY good value for money at peak season and is a great base (If you are a small person).
