The Old Sawmill is a luxuriously appointed warm and cosy detached cottage within the tranquil location of a little Cornish village, tucked away off the beaten track, not suitable for long wheel base vehicles due to access restrictions. Formerly a working sawmill dating back to the 1800s, this lovely two double bedroom property features oak flooring and slate tiles. There is a modern contemporary wood burner in the living room, exposed beams with vaulted ceiling and great natural lighting. Offering a comfortable three seater sofa and two armchairs, one of which is a wingback chair, along with a dining table and four chairs, and wooden blinds throughout. The bedrooms enjoy Egyptian cotton bed linen and there are big fluffy towels, waffle dressing gowns and hypo allergenic duvets. An initial supply of logs for the wood burner are included and a super welcome pack all goes to offer a spot of luxury to guests.
The ground floor bedroom has a zip and link kingsize bed which can be made into two single beds and has an en-suite shower room, whilst the upstairs bedroom has a kingsize bed with a double shower in the bathroom just across the hall. Mattresses are hand tailored in the UK and offer full body kinetic support with 2000 pocket springs. The cottage is situated in a quiet location, in a tiny village, but with good access onto the A38 and A390 making the cottage perfect for exploring the wider region of Cornwall. The friendly owners who live on-site, have a small studio/workshop and can offer one day courses during the summer (subject to availability) on Saturday’s or Sunday’s in making artisan handmade bread and small batch craft ales, these need to be booked in advance with the owners. All in all a lovely cottage for quiet couples and families looking for a little hideaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Carnglaze Caverns 10 minutes away, Eden Project 25 minutes and Bodmin Moor 15 minutes away. Looe and Polperro fishing villages and nearest beach is 25 minutes away. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

"What a beautiful place to stay. The cottage was superb and the hosts, Jamie and Louise, were perfect hosts. We would definitely recommend to everyone."
    Paul – 9 Oct 2019
"Beautiful cottage! Impeccably decorated and clean throughout. A credit to the owners Jamie & Louise who were always available without ever being intrusive.Access to the property off main road can be a little tricky but there are plenty of passing areas. It is only a short drive to the town of Liskeard with large stores, shops and social amenities."
    LIDDIARD – 29 Sep 2019
    "Ok I f only 2 people, clean"
    Lynn – 22 Sep 2019
"Excellent cottage which was very clean and well equipped. The owners Jamie and Louise were very friendly and helpful"
    David – 17 Aug 2019
"High standard of accommodation, recently renovated, good quality of interior and beds very comfortable. Details on local area attractions and were available. Convenient location for both north and south coastlines, and we also travelled to St Ives quickly as access to main roads. Eden project only a short drive towards St Austell. Really enjoyed our short stay and didn’t want to go home."

"Cottage good but access road bit tricky and didn't see any local amenities within walking distance"
    Alison – 15 Jul 2019
"Jamie and Louise made us feel very welcome and the provision of the beer and home made bread was much appreciated. The cottage is comfortable and generally very good"
    Nicholas – 8 Jun 2019
"I found the cottage to be comfortable, well-equipped and, above all, extremely quiet. The owners, who live very close by, were both friendly and helpful but never intrusive. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay."

"The cottage was very nice but only big enough for a couple not for families as advertised. We’ve stayed at many similar places in the area and never had to buy additional heating, we found that very odd!We were disappointed when our friends came to pick us up one evening and even though they were only there for 10 mins, they were asked to move their car, there is plenty of room for other cars, again it seemed odd!The stay for us was purely to see friends and family in Cornwall so this property served its purpose."
    Leanne – 18 Oct 2018
"Me and my grandparents had a wonderful stay here. We arrived after a 3 hour journey and with the helpful directions from the owners and also google maps found this cottage with no issues. The access from the main road leads on to a narrow lane but there are plenty of pull in areas and I never had a problem. The actual cottage was amazing and you can tell a lot of thought and love has gone in to the place. The owners left us had a bottle of homemade beer, homemade bread and also some local fresh farm eggs to get our holiday started which was a lovely touch. We were extremely lucky with the weather here in October and had some lovely days out but really enjoyed coming back to the cottage on an evening to cook and relax. I love to cook and this kitchen had everything I could possibly need, I was very impressed as I had brought a few bits with me just in case but didn't need to. We all spent many a cosy night with the log burner a blaze and wrapped up in throws, it was so relaxing. If we needed anymore wood for the fire we just had to phone or text the owners who were happy to get supplies and we just needed to pop the money in an envelope and post it through their door as they live in the cottage opposite. My Nan commented every day how comfy the bed was and how she'd had some of the best nights sleep here. We visited a few local places; Looe and also Talland bay but also travelled further a field to The lost gardens of heligan and Port Isaac. By the end of the holiday my Gramp didn't want to leave which is always a good sign and I think he felt very at home here. I would definitely recommend this holiday cottage as we all had such an amazing break away."
