What our customers say about their holidays

It was my first time visiting Scotland and I stayed at this charming cottage, it was nothing short of spectacular.
Nestled in a tranquil area, the cottage provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The serene surroundings and the picturesque views were simply breathtaking. Every morning, I was greeted by the sight of lush greenery, as someone who has always lived in the city surrounded by buildings this was honestly eye opening, making it the perfect spot for nature lovers. The cottage itself was cozy and well-appointed, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to prepare our meals with ease, and the living area was perfect for unwinding in the evenings with a good film or a book (the cottage had both books to read, DVDâs to watch a film and a smart TV to browse through). The area was incredibly peaceful, providing a much-needed escape into nature. The only sounds I heard were the gentle rustling of trees and the occasional chirping of birds, creating a tranquil atmosphere that was perfect for relaxation. Whether I was enjoying my morning tea on the decking or taking a leisurely walk around the area, I felt a deep sense of calm and rejuvenation. There were plenty of scenic trails for hiking, the cottage had a lot of leaflets, travel guides and folders with maps to see nearby attractions. We visited a waterfall that wasnât too far from the back of the cottage took us approx 1-2 hours to reach and it was breathtaking (just a heads up it was a lot of walking and some incline). Thereâs also an estate nearby that held the beautiful Highland cows and had some hiking trails. We saw a deer once on the first day but unfortunately we didnât see anymore. There was beautiful little birds that would visit the birdhouse in the garden every morning (leave some seeds and water for them to have) and there was some frogs, sheep, turkeys, pigs and the locals friendly dogs. This cottage is a great base if youâre interested in visiting Isle of Skye it takes around an hour from the cottage. John and Mae were both incredibly friendly and welcoming, they were both attentive to any needs and always willing to assist with any inquiries or requests. Their easygoing nature and sincere care contribute to a truly memorable and pleasant stay. We felt incredibly comfortable throughout our stay couldnât have asked for a better experience! The locals were also welcoming and friendly adding to the overall positive experience! In conclusion, this cottage offered an unforgettable experience. The combination of its beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, and comfortable accommodations made it a perfect getaway. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a serene and beautiful place to stay in the Scottish Highlands! :)

Tigh Fasgaidh was as lovely, comfortable, roomy and full of character as the pictures suggested.
The kitchen was well equipped and pleasant to use. The secluded garden with morning and evening sun for breakfast and BBQ (with midges but we persevered!) was a nice surprise especially as the owners had provided new garden furniture in response to someone else's comment! A beautiful spot, very peaceful with views of hills around, dark skies and stars out of the top velux window, and a short walk from the shore, Manuela's bakery and PizzaJo's, with mouthwatering pastries, bread and pizzas, and of course Dornie with the Clachan Inn and village store. Just a shame there was no need to use the lovely wood burner as the weather was so warm! We had a wonderful week, with sunshine and no rain! If anything we found the cottage almost too warm at night, with lovely thick feather duvets, but they would be perfect for most Scottish weather! The only minor issue we had was an overflow from the upstairs shower onto the tiled bathroom floor. On investigation we found a clogged up filter in the shower drain so this was easily fixed and didn't happen again. Worth adding to the list for the cleaners to check each time, and making guests aware of in case it happens again. We also needed to buy more toilet rolls as we couldn't find any when the original ones ran out, but I think this was probably on the list of things to bring, and a small price to pay! Thanks again for such a lovely place to stay. It was perfect for my 60th birthday hillwalking treat with some of my grown up family and a good friend. I'd love to come back some time!

Itâs a lovely house in a great spot for getting around the highlands and on to Skye.
Very quiet and peaceful (you occasionally hear the main road but only outside and itâs not intrusive). We only used the downstairs rooms as there were just 2 of us, although we did go upstairs to find more towels as 1 large towel each for a week when you canât guarantee the weather to dry them is a bit tight. The water pressure and availability of hot water is excellent - the shower by the kitchen is fantastic. The kitchen is well fitted, including a dishwasher, although there was no dishwasher detergent (only salt) so we had to buy some (see below comment on last morning). The lounge is comfy and very roomy and we used my streaming services plus iPlayer to watch TV as standard terrestrial channels are not available. The bed we used and bedding were decent quality. We have already recommended the house to friends who also enjoy a Scottish holiday. My only ânegativeâ is the ask of guests to do housework on the last morning. We used to have an Airbnb and if guest chose to do any âcleaningâ it was a bonus, but we never asked and certainly didnât have specific laundry baskets labelled for the task. We also always provided dishwasher tablets - 1 for each day of their stay. In my opinion stripping beds etc is not what people come on holiday to do. To be clear, we did it and often do, it is expectation / ask that I personally donât like. As I say, we liked the house, have recommended it already and had a lovely stay overall.

Stayed two days in summer.
"lochside" really means beside a tidal seaweed patch that isn't nice to look at, not useful for boats, and uninhabitable with midges in summer, having driven the lengths of scotland I've never seen midges like it at this location. Location is on the other side of the loch so its an age to the shop in reality on bad roads, one takeaway that was always closed while we were there. Cabin has open fire so stinks of smoke, no attempts to clean by owners, who will expect you to clean for them, or charge your card without permission to do their job. Beds are tiny and hard. Decor is 70s esq, nice thick carpets to absorb the musky smell of the fire."award winning" we all found amusing on arrival. Kids hated it as TV wouldnt work and Wifi was awful. (I know I Know but kids like wifi, reality) Trades on location but its just another rental on a row of rentals. A typical skyes property tbh should know that by now. Avoid in future. Was charged hundreds of £s without consent for a wonky picture, a ring on a coaster (I'm not making this up) and crums on a floor. Apparently cleaners in this area are not very efficient. Avoid like the plague, Scotland has so many cheaper nicer places.

Me, my girlfriend and 4 of my Best Friends had Chosen this House for our one week Trip from Germany to Scotland.
After our 2 days Trip with the Ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle and Plenty of Hours in the car we Finally arrived in this wonderful House. All of us loved it at first sight. The clean bedrooms and comfortable beds in it, the big kitchen with everything you need, and the highlight was the living room with the super cosy fireplace and couch area. Unfortunately there was no wood when we arrived but at the second day we brought some by the next coop market. But the best thing about this place might be the location. You are almost in viewing distance to the Eileen Donan castle (just a small walk to the nearest loch) Only a 10 min car drive to Kyle of lochalch wich is what you would call a âbigger cityâ in highland standards. And from there you can enter the Ilse of Skye over the Skye bridge. The Isle of Skye is the most favourite destination of my girlfriend and me and we spend almost the whole week to show all of its wonders and secrets to our friends. It was the third time we visited Scotland and not for the last time for sure. This house gave us everything we needed and I highly recommend it for every family with dogs. Cheers, Leon.
