Fabulous , comfortable, well maintained and clean Apartment with everything you need for your stay provided and the most amazing views!
! Outside table and sun loungers to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Good comms for arrival, key collection and departure details. We were fortunate that we had brilliant weather and the walks, beaches and scenery locally were stunning especially from the top of the island. We have fallen in love with this location and have already booked again. The lanes are tight to drive down with only passing bays in places so best to try to avoid busy times and use the A roads as less stressful but you have to use the lanes from A379 as itâs the only Road to get to Bigbury on Sea. Locally there are only a few shops , one is the beach shop that does sell some lovely souvenirs and a small Nisa food shop on the campsite in the next bay, Holywell Stores is in St Anneâs Chapel, so either come prepared or expect to drive the lanes again to get supplies. I think that some information in the apartment on what is nearby i.e locally produced produce, Farm Shops, farmers markets / days etc would be useful and also if they deliver ? We had a few meals out in the leisure club and Pilchards Inn and enjoyed both restaurants the food was very good - both need reservations for dinner, the staff in both were very friendly . The Venus Cafe on the beach lower car park was also lovely for a breakfast, coffee and a cheeky ice cream! Lots of people had dogs and the beach is perfect for them! The sea tractor is interesting to watch coming back and forth as the tide comes in and out over the causeway and worth a ride for the experience, time it right and you can just walk across to the Island and the pub which always seemed popular, you do pay a deposit on the plastic glass if you sit outside but is refunded if you return. Only small niggle - the BBQâs / fires on the beach - when they were below the apartment the smoke drifted onto the patio and into the apartment if the doors were open, so a little annoying but it was mainly at the weekend. Honestly, you wonât be disappointed with the apartment or location we had a wonderful relaxing time , highly recommended and canât wait to return !

The house has such great potential, however we had several issues during our stay, and some positives too.
1) The dishwasher was broken, we were told when we arrived - as 3 families (11 people) this wasn't ideal, it was a lot of extra time washing dishes on a supposed luxury break, I know these things can't be helped, but it was not replaced until literally the morning we left (the irony!) this could have been resolved much sooner. 2) The hot tub was freezing cold for the first 24 hours, we were told it was due to it being 'cleaned' yet no other lodge we have stayed at had this problem, it was also never inspected for the entire week we were there, other lodges have someone come every morning to check the ph levels etc, which may have caused our illness (see further down). 3) The house was not cleaned to a satisfactory standard, firstly, let me say the main cleaner was absolutely wonderful, a lovely lady who tried her best, but that property is too much for one cleaner, you need a couple of cleaners to really properly clean it, the wooden floor was dirty, the sofa had a musty smell (why fabric sofa's in a lodge? Surely get leather easier to clean!) Positives; 1) The tennis court is brilliant, as are the swings/play area for the kids, clean and just a really good area, fresh air, no need for video game consoles! 2) The staff on site, particularly the main cleaner, and the lady in the main office who kept informing us of the dishwasher situation, she also sent the cleaner to clean the lodge when we mentioned the issue. 3) 2 Bottles of wine on arrival, very nice touch, and very nice wine. 4) Beds were comfortable, showers were powerful, rooms were huge. Unfortunately, out of 11 of us, 9 of us were sick during and following the stay, the children from the early part of the stay, later moving on to the adults - whilst we can't exactly pinpoint what caused it, we have our suspicions it was related to the hot tub cleanliness. When all is said and done, would we go back there? Probably not.

**Review for Vantage Point Accommodation** Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the accommodation was fantastic!
However, there were a few areas for improvement that we noticed during our visit: - The main double bedroom with the heating system was quite noisy, producing a knocking sound. Soundproofing the cupboard could help avoid disturbing guests. - None of the bedroom doors had locks, except for the bathroom and toilet. It would be helpful to have child-friendly locks for added privacy. - The bottom drawer of the freezer was broken. - In the double bedroom to the left of the stairs, we found a spider in the bed sheets. This might be due to how or where the sheets are stored. - It would have been helpful to know ahead of time that the sauna wasnât working, especially as this was one of the key features that influenced our booking. - The main door leading to the jacuzzi area didnât lock, so we had to place items near it at night for extra security. - Since we traveled in winter, the living room was quite cold, and it seemed the owners controlled the heating. Thankfully, reception provided us with two electric heaters, which made a big difference. - The whirlpool jets in the baths need better maintenance. We experienced floating debris when turning on the jets, which was unpleasant. These are just some housekeeping issues we noticed during our stay. That said, Vantage Point was absolutely stunning, and it was such a pleasure waking up to the beautiful views every day. We were welcomed with a lovely Christmas tree, mince pies, and some local treats, which added a festive touch to our visit. Weâll definitely consider returning during the warmer monthsâthank you for the wonderful experience!

The apartment was exactly as described and we couldn't have asked for a better place, overlooking the beach.
We've stayed in the block before and it is truly a unique spot. You can't beat the views onto Burgh Island and the kids loved waking up in the morning and seeing the ever-changing view - was the tide in or out, what the weather was like and whether the sea tractor was operational. The ground floor apartment itself was very comfortable, and exceptionally clean and had absolutely everything one could possibly need. Bathrooms were very modern and everything had been thought of down to having a more cosy light over the basin so you didn't have to put on the main bright light. Heated towel rails were a bonus. We had lovely weather for most of the week and enjoyed time on the beach and in the lovely indoor pool and then our last 2 days were spent visiting Greenway (Agatha Christie's holiday home) which we accessed via a small "ferry" from Dittesham and then Totnes on our way home on the last day, but there is plenty to do in the area so you can be as active or as relaxed as you like. The owners left an amazing chocolate cake and a bottle of wine for our arrival which we enjoyed - thank you!

After the initial wow factor of this property you start to notice it's failings, It was clearly a very stylish and well planned property much loved by it's owners as the furnishings and fittings clearly show, but now the property looks clearly un-loved!
. Please read following: Dead mouse found in bathroom cupboard in bedroom nearest to parking space. Skylight dirty needs cleaning. Decking needs a clean and re-sealing. Hand rail around the decking needs re- sealing. Glass banister around decking needs cleaning, covered in green algae at the edges and full of spiders webs. Pots on decking need weeding. The garden below the decking and each side of the drive way needs sorting, it's over grown and migrating on to the already narrow drive (about 3 MTRS wide) then over grown on to it, it looks like it was well planned but not maintained or looked after. Patio furniture in poor condition, it's usable but the hardwood table top needs sealing and some of the chairs have the paint off them leaving corroded aluminium behind. Overall we had a good stay and were well catered for views of wild life were wounderful, fixing the above would have made it perfect. Overall I would say the property was a 3+/4- out of 5. Would we come back? Probably! Although the beds were VERY firm for us.
