What our customers say about their holidays

An immaculate, characterful property a stone's throw from Mousehole harbour.
The double bedroom is bright and airy, with a comfy bed and a lovely view (from the quaint diddy side window) over to the craggy rocks of St Clement's Isle. The living room somehow managed to find the balance between cosy and pleasantly spacious too. There was a very thoughtful welcome package with a pint of milk and sweet treats left for me. Sadly, since I'm vegan, I wasn't able to enjoy these -- but the gesture was appreciated! There's a great deli and cafe just over the street from the property, and the village offers a small but mighty selection of venues for dining and drinks. Newlyn, just up the road via the regular Mouse bus, also has some great little foodie spots too. Potential guests with mobility issues should bear in mind the steepness of the stairs up to the front door and the stair journey that's needed to access the kitchen and bathroom. One small niggle was having to turn the hot water and heating on/off manually every time it was needed. The electric bin lid in the kitchen didn't seem to be working also, though these things can happen of course. However, my overall stay was a pleasure and I'd most definitely head back in a heartbeat!

Very well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable house.
The garden is small but well fenced - however the fence is quite low and anyone with a sight hound would need to be watchful when letting them out. The back of the house is close to the main road into Padstow but I didnât find it at all noisy. I do think that a little more attention needs to be paid to maintenance of the property. The front door key is very temperamental and difficult to lock/unlock. There was one lightbulb in the main lounge light not working on arrival and a second blew whilst I was there, with no spares. On the third day the previously working electric fire suddenly stopped working and on another night the fuse box tripped. My main problem with the house was the drive and parking. The advert states that you approach via a double width drive which you do. Unfortunately it doesnât say that this then narrows to an awkwardly angled very narrow drive with unforgiving stone walls on one side. If you have a large or a long estate car as I have it is difficult to reverse up or, if you drive in forwards turning your car around in the available space is also very awkward. That said I felt comfortable, warm and safe and would definitely stay again.

Excellent location, close to bus stop (regular busses) and Tesco store.
Nice sized property. Most suited to 2 adults & 2 children rather than 4 adults. The carpets and 3 piece suite are clean, however, they look dirty because they are very dated! Suite is comfortable to sit in. The microwave should be replaced. It has a crack inside and is rusty around the door. Although the double bed is a standard size, it would not suit larger people. It is very comfortable to sleep on however. I recommend upgrading to a king size especially as there is plenty of room to take it. The kitchen is well equipped with all the pots, pans, crockery, utensils etc that one could need. A dishwasher would be a bonus but is not essential. There is a noticeable damp musty smell in the property which does not completely go away when windows are opened. This is an issue when it is cold outside. This property has tremendous potential, however, it does need updating. I appreciate that this is reflected in the rental fee but I would be prepared to pay more if it were to be done.

The property was spotless.
We were told that the main light in the double bedroom wasnât working but the owner had left our telephone number with an electrician who would get back to us. We are still waiting. The lock on the door was faulty. You could easily open it from the inside, but trying to open it from the outside was a nightmare. We reported this to the owner who said a locksmith would get in touch with us to arrange to sort it out. Again we are still waiting. We stayed there for three weeks. We have stayed at Chiff Chaff quite a few times over the years and have really enjoyed our holidays there, but were really disappointed this time and will definitely not be returning.

This is a really lovely property in a fab location.
The chalet was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and had absolutely everything there you could possibly want. It was lovely and quiet at night. The holiday park had a shop and bar with food and entertainment which was handy (and a big play park for kids under 12). The mattress on the double bed was really comfortable. Only slight negative is that the mattresses on the bunk beds arenât great - they are a bit lumpy and you can feel the springs. Probably would be ok for small kids but my adult sized teenagers were uncomfortable. That said Iâd still go back because itâs a lovely property.
