What our customers say about their holidays

I spent 2 hours cleaning this property when we arrived.
I couldnât stop sneezing because of the high level of dust. I donât think it had been dusted for weeks, if not months. The hoover was full when we arrived and I had to hoover the whole property 3 times, before it stopped filling the hoover up again. The freezer and cupboards were full of half eaten food, which I was very confused about? I donât think that is acceptable, hygienic or safe. I moved all the frozen food to the bottom of the freezer, incase it belonged to the owner. There was a dirty towel under the bed. The towels left to use were awful and very worn and threadbare. I moved all the outdoor furniture cushions onto the top of the wardrobes and then hoovered under the bed. The next guests wonât find it dirty because I spent a lot of time leaving it in the condition I would expect to find it myself. It a shame because it could have been an outstanding property on a lovely quiet camp, if it had been cleaned and all the food removed.

Lovely lodge in a nice quiet location.
Our dog loved watching the rabbits and hens playing near the pond, with the occasional red squirrel making a visit. The lodge was nice and clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need for self catering, more than usual for other lodges, which was a nice touch. We were welcomed with a couple of complementary drinks in the fridge. Only downside is there are what we think to be mice venturing into the roof or wall cavities. Every night between 11-3am we were woken up to loud scratching and gnawing noises in the ceiling above the bed. One night in particular it continued for about an hour, it sounded as if something was attempting to gnaw its way into the room, I had to resort to knocking the ceiling with the sweeping brush in the hopes of scaring it off, I even popped outside to to make sure there was nothing on the roof, whatever it is sounds determined to get in, as it kept coming back.

An incredible stay and Matthew and Natalie's hut, the attention to detail was second to none. Lovely couple who welcomed us so warmly and were on hand for all our needs. Inside this beautiful hut is spotlessly clean, so well designed and thought out. Warm, homely and luxurious the bed was amazing!! Lovely hamper on our arrival and we ordered afternoon tea and cupcakes which was delicious and huge!!! The setting, the hot tub, the peace and tranquillity was just what we needed. We went to one of the pubs nearby The Three Horseshoes Pub for Saturday night dinner and Sunday roast the food was great and the company was very welcoming. We 110% recommend this delightful place, added bonus was the lovely animals on the smallholding for which we were allowed to feed the lambs. We can't wait to come back.

This place should be available on prescription as a cure for the stresses of life.
The location was perfect for exploring the Lakes from the coast to the top of the highest mountain in England. There is quite literally everything you need in the lodge which was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully organised. The welcome pack of milk, but juice, wine and beers was a nice gesture too, t The lodge is situated at the end of the site, so no cars are passing, ensuring plenty of privacy too. In addition, there is the pleasure of watching the cheeky red squirrels that turn up throughout the day to feed and scamper about just outside the doorway. Although the weather was not great when we stayed, the lodge is well located to explore other attractions and near local shopping for food or for dining out. We are already planning to return as we felt so at home there.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay and our dogs as well We've relaxed like we haven't for a really long time. It's amazing that the hut is better equipped than our house. You can find everything that you need (and what your dogs need). You can enjoy a lovely area, a lot of options for walks or just sitting in the hot tub and listening to owls. All the animals at the farm are friendly. (we would love to take "shadow the sheep* "with us). We travel a lot with our dogs, but this is the best place where we have stayed. We will definitely be back. Matthew and Natalie are lovely people and the are looking after people, animals, but also the planet by using ecological cleaners. We need more people like you are. Thank you for everything.
