What our customers say about their holidays

This lovely cottage is tiny.
It is not suitable for large people or those with any sort of mobility issues. It is situated on the main road between Barmouth and Dolgellu and the traffic is fast and frequent. Parking is a shallow bay that has spaces for the cottage and the adjacent cottage. The key safe is all the way to the right of the cottage currently under a bush so a torch or phone light needs to be used to see the numbers. There is a step up into the accommodation, coat hooks to the left but no where to put wellies or muddy boots so bring something to put down. The windows are double glazed so that noise is at a minimum. There is a low sofa, a small tv with sky box which (as has been mentioned in previous reviews) is fairly useless because of it's positioning. The small kitchen is basically but adequately equipped. There is a small table and two chairs and a welsh dresser which houses the plates and cooking casserole dishes. The bathroom has a heated towel rail, a fan heater and a small wash basin. There is an 8 inch step up into the shower. The shower is electric and we found it difficult to regulate. The water drains slowly and fills the shower tray quickly so long hot showers are not advised. The toilet is a saniflo system which is noisy and makes the cottage lights flicker. The stairs to the upper floor are steep. The upstairs room is spacious and delightful. The tv is small and has freeview. There are two chairs and a coffee table at the window with room around them that doesn't obstruct the very comfortable double bed. Towels, four pillows and a duvet are provided but there are additional textiles in the blanketbox. A small waist high hanging rail has 7 hangers, and there is a chest of drawers for storage as well. Velux windows for ventilation and a fire escape door. Outside the terrace is very nice but reached by steep stairs which have no hand rail. It is warm, dry and clean and we enjoyed our stay despite the inclement weather.

Pentre Fach is a lovely barn conversion and the owners are so kind and helpful.
The hot tub is a treat we were here for 3 weeks Fresh water change was done weekly which I felt was great. I Feel the cottage could benefit from some new utensils as the knifes and scissors were blunt and there were not enough glass for 6 people, cottage sleeps 6 but only 3 Prosecco glasses etc also a nice big saucepan would have been useful when cooking for a large family. These are only small Suggestions And had I have asked the owners whist there I know they would have been more than accommodating as nothing was a problem for them and they would have been happy to help. Being in the country flies were an issue for me the owners again supplied us with fly paper and spray etc but if the doors were open the flies were in plenty! (I spent a lot of time killing and picking up flies). The beds and bedding were lovely and comfortable and we had fresh bedding and towels brought every week the upstairs rooms were very hot as they are in the roof of the house I was certainly glad I planned ahead and took fans or it would have been unbearable on really hot days especially as I was reluctant to open windows Because of the flies coming in. The games and swing ball in the garden were a lovely addition and there was plenty of garden furniture to sit and enjoy the outdoors. All in all we had a great time here and that was down to Julie and Gareth for helping us feel so welcome there. I would highly recommend A visit to Llandrindod well Lakes which is only a 25 minute drive we spent most days there are the kids enjoyed the fishing which is free to under 16 (take your own equipment) lovely play area for the little ones and a cafe serving beautiful food for great prices.

Booking was quick and easy.
Correspondence with relevant information was forthcoming from both Sykes and the owners of the cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and is set in the most amazing surroundings. It is very well presented and the owners have literally thought of everything. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and the hot tub a wonderful added bonus. There is plenty of wood for the log burner and we were surprised to learn that this would be replenished free of charge if required. As a family we needed some time to regroup and recharge and we were able to do this perfectly here. We had a lovely relaxing break in the peace and quiet amongst the sheep, squirrels, hares and birds and not to mention the views which are absoloutely spectacular. The hosts are so friendly and helpful and nothing seems to much trouble. The only problem was we didnât want to leave!! Would highly recommend this property and we most certainly want to come back!

The barn conversion is set in a beautiful part of the country.
The owners are very helpful and fantastic hosts who work extremely hard to maintain the cleanliness of this and other accomodations. The accomodation has fantastic views and clearly no expense has been spared to create a highly modern propery but with the quirkiness of a barn conversion. Will be going back again soon as for me the best thing about this place is the views and tranquility which all should experience. We went with a party of 6. 3 adults and 3 children all who thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the 7 nights. As I said earlier the cleanlines of the property is very high and I thoroughly recommend this fantastic accomodation to anyone who wants a little bit of peace and quiet. However do drive slowly down the lanes as the sheep can be stubborn and dont wanna move...... my kids thought this was funny as did we all. Hope whoever goes has as good a time as we did

This was the most incredible holiday, the reviews, pictures until now do not do this property or it's owners justice.
The views are stunning and it is really in the middle of nowhere! The place was sparkling clean - we usually leave cottages cleaner than when we arrived but this was hard to do!!! The hot tub was as clean as anything and worked perfectly, the surrounding area is packed with walks and things to do and next time we will stay for longer. The owners were always there to help if needed or just chat yet only came when asked. Julie and her family are lovely people, and have wonderful kids. Gareth is fun to talk to and speak about farming, checking on the water and chlorine levels daily (which means driving 7 min from his home to sort it out)!! Horse riding in the area was amazing and the kids loved the quad bike bonus! CAn't wait to return here with my family again... Lollu, Soro Dina, Malky, Tova, Bathseva, AZ, and Levi HIBBERT.
