What our customers say about their holidays

Hi There, We loved this place and will return, it was a last minute booking for my wife and I as we had our cottage cancelled on the same day as we booked with you, It was lucky you had this date free.
The apartment was spotless , we always say when we go away the place has to be at least as comfortable as our home and No1 Riverside did exactly this. Thank you for also suppling the milk/ teabags and the lovely Plum Bread and Jam. Mmmmm , we both put weight on ;) The sheets on the bed, towels were lovely x The location to Keswick and parking made the stay easy and more fullfiling. We loved the sound of the river both in the morning and when going to bed, wonderful. x No negatives just a couple of small maintenance issues. 1. The electric fire in the lounge, the fan makes a real noise, it would be lovely to have it on, not for the heat but the glowing log effect, it would be great if you can sort this. 2. I had to bleed the radiators and top the bolier pressure up to get the heating working again, I did not bother you with this as its something I can do, good to keep an eye on this .. 3. The standard lamp fitting is broken , easy fix. We will definitely visit again , we both said we could live in the apartment so if you ever think of selling ? x x ;) Lots of love and well done on supplying a great product and service. The location of the apartment was excellent with lovely views along the river and over the park.
In general, the standard of the accommodation was good and the apartment was clean and cosy, but there were a few issues we encountered which were disappointing and need to be resolved - the microwave wasn't working and, despite reporting it, this wasn't fixed during our stay; there is a good quality Nespresso coffee machine but you cannot buy the pods for it in Keswick so it was unusable; there was no cutlery basket in the dishwasher; one of the kitchen cupboard doors was broken; the pans were poor quality; the en-suite bedroom had a damp/musty smell and the shower tray was marked and discoloured. We reported these issues directly to Heart of the Lakes early on in our stay and hope they are addressed for future guests. Our other issue was that, as we were 2 couples holidaying together, there were no parking permits available for our second car. We had been told that it was possible to buy a weekly pass at the nearby car park but this proved not to be the case and the 24 hour day rate to park there was £11.60 per day which we felt was an expensive additional cost given the cost of the apartment.

Fantastic location riverside.
Something happening in Fitz park everyday. Perfect for elderly and dog. The ability to walk into Keswick was outstanding. The aesthetics of the apartment were beautiful and high quality. Settee looked stunning but lacked comfort, however the position was perfect. Unfortunately it really wasnât clean. Floors filthy and sticky. No mop. Had to clean on hands and knees with a cloth. Appliances in kitchen were dirty especially the fridge. Rang management to report all shelves in fridge door were broken and towel radiator did not work in family bathroom. Conclusion of this call was access to store cupboard for bin liners which were not supplied ?? But overall I felt management thought I was wasting their time. They Advised someone would come on Tuesday to measure up for new shelves in fridge and have a look at radiator. No evidence this happened. The light/torch in hallway did not work. Table in lounge very loose, and lacked clear heating instructions. Overall we loved the apartment, parking place and convenience of all amenities were fantastic.

The apartment was superb.
..really well designed with a high spec interior it had everything you could wish for. The bathroom in particular was fantastic. A wonderful deep bath to soak the muscles after a days walking... The location is fantastic, only 2 mins from town but still a quiet location. There was a parking space in the buildings car park... probably the only negative as it's a bit tricky parking a large car, but you do get used to it..you need to reverse in !! Keswick is a wonderful base, the town has LOTS of really good places to eat, the fellpack was the best and closest.. (hence we didn't use the flats lovely kitchen very much). Quick mention for Angela the housekeeper a real asset, very helpful and knowledgeable... Pointed us in the direction of the best Chinese takeaway. (Golden hills). All in all an excellent stay and we really hope to return. Thankyou!

Just to say we had a great stay.
It was wonderful and very welcoming. A couple of points for feedback. The outside lights didn't come on and after inspecting the fuse board it transpires they had been turned off. Not good in the dark with difficult steps to negotiate. Secondly the central heating was set for twice a day. On the assumption that guests would be out during the day fine BUT it was Xmas holidays when the shops are shut and winter weather is bad.So to supplement the heating by asking guests to use the air heater on the electric fire only produced a dry heat that gave us both raging sore throats and kept us in bed two days. Not good. Other than that it was as good as it looked in the brochure. Thanks Garry staincliffe.
