    Simply delightful, this gem of a cottage is located in the popular village of Staveley, just a short drive from Windermere and on the edge of the stunning Kentmere Valley, offering direct access to fabulous walks and cycle routes, whilst the bustling market town of Kendal is easily found just a few miles away.
    Sitting along the River Gowan, S37808 offers a high level of comfort and facilities in this beautifully presented cottage. With en-suite showers in both double bedrooms in addition to the main bathroom, along with a well-equipped kitchen, the property caters well for guests looking for the benefit of contemporary facilities in a characterful property.
    Staveley village provides visitors with an excellent mix of shops, pubs and even a micro-brewery. The railway station offers the opportunity to leave the car behind altogether, or perhaps to venture a little further afield in this picturesque area.
    A rear yard to S37808 with outdoor furniture offers a chance to enjoy the last of the days’ sun on warmer evenings. Additionally, the area can be locked from the rear to provide bike storage.

    "Great location to explore the Lake District and Staveley has superb amenities and coffee shops as well as a fantastic starting point for walks or cycling. The cottage was warm and cosy! On street parking was the only possible down side but wasn’t a problem for our stay."

    "Lovely weekend break in S37808. Beautifully furnished and very clean. The only thing that lets this accommodation down is the bath towels which were thin and barely bigger than hand towels. Such a shame."

    "Loved the cottage, area, plenty to do even at back end of the year. Great base for walking. All that you need to relax when you return later in the day. Two ovens ideal. Parking can get a bit manic but none the less a great holiday."

    "Lovely cottage had everything we needed and more. Great having ensuite in both rooms as well as another bathroom downstairs. Maybe the only thing on the downside is that if the weather had been better and we wanted to sit outside there isn't a view in the back where you sit but to be fair that is a minor thing as we were out every day."

    "We had a week in this lovely cottage in August.Quiet location with nice pub within walking distance as was the Spa,and butchers for supplies.We had no difficulty parking whilst we stayed there and would happily stay there again!"

    "This cottage was a great place to stay , very cosy and clean.i would recommend to clean front of the cottage and back garden , next door makes lot of noise in the evening! But people of this village were very nice ! Over all I appreciate there cleansiness!!"

    "Spent a week in Staveley to explore the lakes. S37808 is fabulous, has been finished to a very high standard and is in a great location. Minor point no storage drawers in bedroom and bath towel are not bath sheets. All in all a very enjoyable stay and no hesitation in recommending a stay at S37808"

    "Staveley was the perfect base for our visit to the Lakes. We really enjoyed the local pub, joined in with the football celebrations and Thursday night quiz! We tried the croissants from the local brewery, beer from the village brewery and daily catch from the fish and chip shop - all really good value and of good quality! The cottage itself was lovely, perfect size and in a great setting. Would definitely be back."

    "This was an excellent place to stay. Local amenities were brilliant, with the local pub about 100 yards from the front door where excellent food was served every day. Add to that a local brewery, cafes that served great food making it an ideal stay. The amenities in the cottage were great and the cleanliness first class. The only reason we have rated 9 for the first question is that the storage of clothes in the bedrooms is poor, however, having said that I'm not sure how that could be rectified as the space has been taken up providing 9th rooms with shower and toilet facilities which was really good. Access to Windemere was close within 8 miles an travelling around was easy. This was a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the South Lakes"

    "I have stayed at this cottage on a number of occasions over the last 3/4 years. It is a fantastic place, ideally located for a relaxing break. However, it is in need of some ongoing maintenance. In the front bedroom/ bathroom alone the following needs attention - the shelf above the sink is falling off, the light fitting above the sink has a bulb cover missing, the toilet roll holder/ towel holder both require fixing back to the wall. the shelf in the bedroom itself is leaning down at a precarious angle. In the kitchen there was a ceiling light out and the magnetic knife holder is loose. In the main seating area the front cover of a double electic socket was loose, It could also do with a review of the crockery (some of it is chipped) and although knives, forks etc are plenfiful some other kitchen equipment ie, weighing scales, potato masher etc would be useful and other things like the large frying pan need replacing altogether as you can't get it clean. I appreciate that these are all minor things but sorted out the accommodation I feel would definitely be worthy of a higher rating"
