  This cottage is absolutely amazing and is like a little home from home.

  Everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable base from which to explore the beautiful Lake District. Lots of information provided and Nicky and Ian are the perfect hosts on hand to help if you need them. Couldn’t fault the cottage I could happily live there but unfortunately, there’s no garden available but great that it’s not essential for a holiday home as you’re busy exploring. Lovely quiet little village with The Royal Oak Pub just a short walk away with lovely Sunday dinner. Try the steam train from Haversmith to Lakeside Station and then you can take a boat ride from the Lakeside and back we’ll try the boat next time. Visit Levens Hall and Grange over Sands too where there’s a Tesco and Coop. Plenty more places to visit so we’re definitely going to return. The weather was good to us too so what more could you ask. Definitely recommend and we have to all our friends

  First time using Sykes and won’t be the last, for sure.

  I worked in the travel industry my whole working life and always take a negative view from start to finish of the booking procedure through to information given, how accurate is it, property condition, back up services etc etc and have say with my mind set I found nothing whatsoever to find. The Lodge was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, information provided by Sykes was spot on, EXCELLENT in all phases. To explain I was a Partner/Director and travelled extensively around GB, Europe, North America and much more and beyond. Now retired my intention is to explore, see, sample more of our own HOMELANDS. No more Aircraft’, no more bland hotels, no more Airports! I started saying first time with Sykes and won’t be the last Please pass sincere thanks to your staff, owner and all others Thanks again

  Mount Pleasant is a lovely cosy cottage and large enough for 3 adults.

  The central heating was simple to use and quickly warmed the property. Always a good test for a cottage is the shower, we were not disappointed, it was excellent. The kitchen was well equipped with everything one could need. The beds were comfortable with nice quality bedding. There were books to read (I read The Salt Path - highly recommended) and lots of OS maps plus leaflets for places to visit. There is no parking by the cottage but plenty of spaces further up the lane so that wasn’t a problem. The lane is very quiet apart from the Primary School (below the cottage) drop off and pick up times. Grange over Sands is very close with food shops, bakery and coffee shops. Recommend a walk along the promenade there and a visit to Tom & Abi’s plant nursery in the car park.

  We are so sorry that we took so long to review the property.

  We were out of the country straight after this stay and decided to stay off our phones for the duration of it. What else can I say apart from what a stunning property you have. The location is tremendous along with the uniqueness of the property. The furnishing of the place was second to none, especially the fantastic bed and shower! The place felt so airy and spacious it truly exceeded our expectations (which were high anyway!) Thank you so much again for allowing us to stay in your gorgeous holiday home. You have really ignited our passion for the lake district and we will definitely be back. The location is also fantastic with everything we need in easy driving distance but also giving us that isolation we were so desperate for. Thank you! Zack & Katie.

  The lodge is lovely and clean and very well equipped.

  They also leave the essentials such as salt and pepper , fairy liquid, some tea and sugar which I think all owners should be told to leave in a holiday home . It is in an excellent location for visiting the southern parts of the Lake District especially the lovely Holker Hall and the very pretty village of Cartmel. It is lovely to sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet and watch the wildlife. The Woodland Hotel is just two minutes walk away and serve evening meals. Unfortunately we had to leave early but we will certainly return in the future and will recommend to friends and family.
