What our customers say about their holidays

We had a really nice stay at Bod Feurig.
It's a typical miners cottage as described; really quaint, warm, and very peacefully located. It was very clean and well presented though a little dated, especially in the kitchen, though we felt that added character. The bathroom was modern and again spotlessly clean. We did have trouble finding the washer dryer in the outhouse, but the key on the hook by the door gave us the clue. It rained most the week but hardly souls that we are, we hiked every day so the washing dryer was very welcome though the dryer wasn't particularly good and we ended up drying clothes on the airer. I'm not sure if this was user error but compared to mine at home, things came out damp even after 2 hours of drying. It was just me and my grown daughter visiting and for two it was perfectly spacious. We cooked most evenings and couldn't fault the kitchen contents (implements, pots and pans, dishes etc all well stocked) despite it's tiny size and dated surfaces/cupboards. The one concern we had was for the awkward step into the bathroom at night. The night light helped and we never had a problem but for small children this might be something for parents to be careful about. If we visit the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It was cheap compared to others in the area so we felt it was good value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and the area.

Talafon was the best holiday home we have stayed in . We would highly recommend anyone to stay here. The quality of the furniture and all fittings including the outdoor furniture is a very high standard, the bed was most comfortable. We had our own private garden and the dogs were extremely secure with fencing all the way around the property. It’s a very central location , we ventured out most days enjoying the miles of many different beaches , in some cases the only ones exercising our dogs. We had some very enjoyable breakfasts in several locations close to the house. It’s very rural and the peace and quiet was just perfect, Christine and Gareth are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of advice on were to visit. We will definitely be back again and recommend your home to friends and family , thank you for sharing your lovely holiday home .

This was our 2nd visit to Cyffdy cottages, this time staying in Aran as we thought the larger 2nd bedroom would suit our growing children.
Cottage was lovely and the views were just stunning even with a glimpse of the lake from some windows. Plenty of enclosed outdoor space for our dog to safely wander outside the cottage and a lovely balcony area with outdoor seating to enjoy those magnificent views. Lovely to have the donkeys in the field next to us and they even began to recognise us when we came back after a day out! The grounds of Cyffdy are immaculate and provide a lovely space for the children to have a play. The trampoline and football goal are fab and nice for the children to have a little safe space. There are so many things to do in the surrounding areas to keep you very busy but it was always lovely to come back to our peaceful cottage at the end of the day where we had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing break. Thank you again, we really didnât want to go home!

This was a last minute booking, without this we had nowhere booked, everything gone so we took it,my wife was looking at it on way there thinking looking at the photos she was thinking it's on some farm and the look of the property wasn't overly inviting she was thinking were staying at dingle farm(emmerdale) but we didn't have anything booked, all had gone so let's go with it,we got there and first impressions was ok,you drive into a yard that has four rental properties, ours and three smaller let's along side of it,there's plenty of parking available,at the side and back of our property there fields with cows and facing there's a barn type building with a scruffy dirty old caravan stored behind it,its not 5 star to say the least but it's acceptable,we get out of car smirk and think ok we can go with this it's only 3 days then we go inside

What a fabulous place, everything we could have wished for! Stunningly clean well furnished and a fully equipped kitchen - thank you! We have a 2 year old so bare with the recommendations. Dolphin watching at New Quay - we took a boat trip and the guide was very knowledgeable, saw more dolphins from the shore that day but still we loved it! Leisure centre for swimming (toddler session but also they have a large water slide) - Machynlleth. Also by the leisure centre in Machynlleth is a great park, walks, gardens and cafes. Aberystwyth - the castle and castle park and the great park just off the southgate round about by the community centre. Aberdyfi beach, well worth the short drive, great sandy beach, toilets near and fish and chips. We really recommend Ynyslas and Borth for lovely views and walks. Thanks for a perfect stay!
