What our customers say about their holidays
Julie - Verified booking
We had a great holiday in Mowzel and in chapel Place.
Parking is right at the door and my estate car fitted in the space no problem. Just a small space, but worth its weight in gold in Mousehole. Did not use garden, as it was too cold in November. Used woodburner, took logs and kindling with us, but Tesco petrol station in Penzance sells these. Great cottage for access to Tremenheere and the Cape. St just was great. We visited St Ives, 30 mins away, but wouldnât bother againâ¦.Very very steep hills. The no.1 deli is fab in Mousehole, just round the bend from The Ship. We had amazing and delicious meals on the front, both at no.1 and also in Deli Kitchen. In fact the food all week has been incredible. Back to the cottage. The downstairs shower room, Iâd off the sitting room, so we only used the downstairs loo. Upstairs there was a Hypnos mattress. With a white company quilt in the main bedroom. Although the bed is smaller than were used to, a 5â double we both slept through each night. I loved the small en-suite. However, Iâm 5â and a sized 10. My husband could not fit in there. The main shower room, which services the other 2 bedrooms was his to use. So in all 2 doubles, one twin. One en-suite and 2 shower rooms, itâs like the tardis! The kitchen/diner was small, but perfectly fitted out. Everything we needed was there for leisureâs breakfasts, whilst we planned our day. Dishwasher, great microwave, oven and a washer (did not use washing machine). We took our own dishwasher tabs, but some were provided. Plenty of loo rolls too! Weâve stayed in some cottages, where the basics were not there whem]n we arrived, but in 2 chapel placeâ¦tea/coffee/milk, biscuits and plenty of loo rolls/fairy liquid and dishwasher tabs. We had a great holiday in Mousehole and were lucky to be there on bonfire night. The fireworks over the harbour were spectacular and I will never forget that feeling of being joyful and reminiscent of childhood days, just magical. People with sparklers in the beach, gathered round harbour wall to watch 30 mins of oooohhhâs and aaaarrrghâs. Soon be Christmas lights and I only wish we were heading back to chapel place for what would be another memorable holiday. Thank you to the owners of Chapel Place, it was lovely and youâve got a really nice home in Mousehole. The only thing that would be niceâ¦A Radio in the kitchen.

The Wink was amazing the moment we entered, it had the wow factor!
, despite having arrived in the rain and mist. The layout of the accommodation was well thought out and executed, the ability to close the outer sliding doors and the Velux roof blinds allows the lounge/kitchen area to be sufficiently dark at night for our little dog to sleep through, the nice long walks helped. Very comfortable bed, and great bathroom, especially the large shower enclosure, always plenty of hot water throughout the day. Nice touch to have bath robes supplied, especially for going outside to use the hot tub. Great kitchen area with the Everhot range. Well stocked with all the utensils we needed. The best welcome basket we have experienced anywhere in self catering accommodation, all top quality locally sourced items. The walled patio area outside was ideal, and safe for the dog and a nice sun trap for most of the day, we managed to use the hot tub, without difficulty, plenty of easy instructions and useful information in the guest book. One of the outstanding benefits was the quiet location on the farm, no traffic noise, very peaceful, great access straight onto the SWCP at the end of the lane, great walks with stunning views. A very easy 10-12 minute walk into St Just with all the essentials, and great pubs, so no real need to be constantly using a car. Lorna, the owner came round shortly after we arrived, to see we were settled in OK, and husband Harvey also passed by during the week. They have gone to great lengths and much thought has gone into presenting this first class accommodation on their farm, it is certainly the best we have stayed in over the years we've been visiting Cornwall. We will most definitely recommend The Wink and hope to return. One last thing, the Cape Cornwall rum that is produced on the farm is excellent!

The best thing about the property is the location, itâs ideal and close to many of the gorgeous places Cornwall has to offer.
Itâs a large property at the end of a cul de sac, the garden goes around the house and the bit accessed from the lounge is kept nice and tidy with trees and flowering shrubs, but the rest is a bit unkempt. There were only two chairs in the garden and no table as in the photographs so if youâre a family and want to sit outside in the evening you canât. When we entered the house we noticed an awful smell, this was from the boiler in the kitchen ( thereâs a large oil tank outside) we had to keep the window open and door closed while we there as it was horrible, I didnât report to the landlord as I had spoken to them about not being able to get the keys as the safe was jammed and they said the boiler had been serviced that day! I like to walk around barefoot and having done so for a couple of hours my feet were black from the hard flooring, we purchased some floor cleaner and found the mop and bucket ( mop wax bone dry do hadnât been used in a while ) also had to clean the bath when I was aching from a long walk one evening as it was dirty/dusty, also the bathroom has a large clear glass window with no blind so careful if you wish to retain your modesty. Overall I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the property and the general âtirednessâ of everything if the landlord employs a cleaner I suggest they have a spot check on occasion. This place could be lovely with a little update. Although we loved the location I wouldnât stay here again I couldnât stand the smell from the boiler let alone having to clean before I start my holiday, needless to say we left a day early.

Very comfortable house, peacefully located and in a great situation to explore the area.
However, there were a few 'niggles'. The cottage was not as clean as had been expected. Mirrors and windows were smeary and dirty and upstairs definitely needed redecorating all round, very tired. There are things that need to be looked at for a more satisfactory stay: you cannot read by any of the bedside lights, they are all far too dim; the pillows need upgrading; at least one, if not two, of the bedrooms could benefit from somewhere to be able to sit and do makeup/hair as there is not enough room or light in either bathroom; if, like this party, you have someone who is not steady on their feet, there should be a shower safety mat, we had to buy one. As said, just 'niggles'. The owners had furnished us with lots of interesting information on places to go in the area which was most helpful. However, it would be nice to have some instructions in the cottage on things like how the heating/hot water works, rules for recycling (very different from our home area) etc.

There are no words to describe just how fabulous this cottage is.
We stayed for Christmas and arrived at midnight after a 5hr journey to a beautifully lit Christmas tree, a wonderfully warm cottage and a welcome box full of the most amazing and thoughtful goodies. The property is immaculate, everything is just that more lovely than youâd hope, the kitchen is full of brilliant utensils.. all lined up and sparkly clean!! Made me smile at the thoughtfulness of the owner and the time spent making guestâs stays all that more memorable. Wonderfully quiet and a few steps through the gate is THE most incredible view and wonderful walks around Cape Cornwall. Two minute drive into St Just which is full of super cute shops, pubs and a fab Co-op. The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring Cornwall. We travel all over the country with our dog and have stayed in many cottages over the years - this is the very best for location, luxury and all round relaxation. We WILL go back.. didnât want to leave!
